Welcome To PGI SURGERY UPDATE 2025

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we welcome you to the PGI Surgery Update 2025, scheduled to take place on October 3–4, 2025, at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. This year's theme — "Reimagining HPB Onco-Surgery" — underscores our collective commitment to advancing surgical care and innovation in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) oncology.

In recent years, the landscape of HPB surgery has witnessed remarkable progress, with significant strides in minimally invasive techniques, robotic platforms, artificial intelligence applications, and precision diagnostics. As we stand at the crossroads of tradition and transformation, this conference seeks to serve as a platform for sharing these developments, engaging in meaningful academic exchange, and shaping the future direction of HPB cancer care.

The two-day scientific program includes:

  • 1Master video classes featuring step-by-step surgical demonstrations by leading experts
  • 2Focused academic sessions on gallbladder cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, colorectal liver metastases, pancreatic tumors, and hepatocellular carcinoma
  • 3Discussions on evolving concepts such as total mesopancreas excision, parenchyma-sparing resections, and neoadjuvant therapies
  • 4Interactive deliberations on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment planning

We are honored to host over 40 national and international speakers, each bringing unique expertise and perspectives, and anticipate the presence of more than 200 delegates from institutions across the country.

PGIMER has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, clinical innovation, and collaborative research. This meeting is a continuation of that legacy — offering not only an opportunity to learn from thought leaders but also to engage with peers, foster professional collaborations, and inspire the next generation of surgical leaders.

Set against the backdrop of Chandigarh, India's first planned city known for its architectural harmony and green boulevards, the conference also offers a chance to experience a serene and culturally rich environment.

We look forward to your participation in what promises to be a rewarding and memorable academic event. Your presence will undoubtedly enrich the discussions and contribute to the success of the meeting.
